Food Review: 8 Crabs
Do you know that Crabs naturally travel about 500m every night and prefer to live alone. However, crab farmers breed many crabs in a confined space in order to be profitable. This causes the crabs to get stressed very easily in captivity as many farms cannot replicate their natural habitat. When they are stressed, crabs produce ammonia, which is a sign of decomposition of seafood. 8 Crabs started of as being the only premium seafood importers specialising in wild catch crabs, sea cucumber, prawns, grouper, and tilapia from Sri Lanka. Today, they have their own processing premises in Sri Lanka. Being the only supplier of wild catch crabs, They are always being able to promise you crabs that are better than the rest. Claypot Beancurd [砂锅豆腐]
This dish is definitely one of my all-time favourite dishes to order at any tze char stall in Singapore because of its savoury gravy that goes very well with rice. Each ingredients really play a part in this dish bringing out it's authentic taste. The bite of the beancurd was so soft.
Black Pepper Crab [黑胡椒蟹]
This is one of the nicest black pepper crab I’ve eaten thus far. The sauce was coated evenly throughout the crab. It comes in different sizes; M, L ,XL. As a crab lover, the quality of this crab used from Sri Lanka is of high quality. The crab meat is really juicy. The black pepper taste good, not too pepper or spicy to consume.
Prawn Paste Chicken [虾酱鸡]
This is my sister's favourite. This golden fried chicken wing taste fabulous and good. Super crispy and flavorful prawn paste chicken. The first bite was so addictive.
Fried Man Tou [饅頭]
Compared to others, this Man Tou is really big. Extremely crispy on the outside, moist on the inside. Great to pair it with the the black pepper sauce from the crab.
Overall i would rate this 5/5, Price is really affordable, yet of a 5 star standard. The delivery was smooth, and the food was still piping hot upon arrival. Will totally recommend this, can't wait to try out their Chili Crab next.
