Food Review: Wildseed Cafe

I found a hidden gem today, at somewhere near punggol i guess. The Summerhouse comprises of The Summerhouse Dining Room and Balcony Bar located on the upper storey, and Wildseed Cafe and Bar on the ground level.

So i decided to give Wildseed Cafe and Bar a try cause i'm pretty into floral, it feels like we are in a different atmosphere once we enter the cafe. There are lots of plants, natural sunlight, concrete flooring. Which means time to snap some pictures.

For sweets-lovers, what's a better way to enjoy a cup of coffee than with luscious pastries created by 1-Group's Pastry Chef, Jasmin Chew. Here's the menu for their Cafe, Bar and Weekend Brunch, just click on which you want to see.

F'ed Up Fries 
The portion is pretty big, would definitely recommend to share. I think it's enough to share with 4-5 pax. Missing Mcdonald's twister fries, you can get this. It taste almost similar to the twister fries in Mcdonald but a little crunchier with chilli, pickled mango chutney and cheese sauce on top.

Highland Pancake 
The pancake is pretty small but i like how they make the pancake where you don't get to physically see the honey but it has the honey taste when you eat it. The taste was just right not too overwhelming as i can still taste the pancake and the butter. If you have spare cash to spent then i think you can give it a try but if not i think you can give this a skip.

Sambal Linguine 
I think the portion is a little to small for 1 person. Definitely wont be enough to fill your tummy BUT THIS IS A MUST TRY DISH! It just taste WOW! The taste of the sambal isn't very strong but yet you can taste the spicyness of the sambal when you eat it. The prawns were quite fresh and juicy but the bad thing is that you have to deshell it yourself, would be better if they had already deshell it first. But there is a toilet just right outside, 1 minute walk away so no fear of dirtying your hands.

Pandan Waffle 
This is a must have dish. There are 3 choices to pick when you order the Pandan Waffle:
   1. Nutella with Almond Flakes & Chocolate Pops 
   2. Kaya with Fresh Coconut & Granola 
   3. Honey Ham with Maple Syrup & Mixed Cheese 
I picked the Nutella one. It comes with a Butterfly Pea Flower Coconut soft serve icecream. I know it sound weird but i would highly recommend it ! It's not sweet. I mean since when ice cream isn't sweet right, your must be thinking i'm joking but LEGIT the ice cream did taste just nice with the pandan waffle. Surprisingly it complements the waffle! Sad part is that the nutella sauce was quite little, but still it taste nice even without it.

Citronella Passionfruit Cheesecake 
I like how the taste of it isn't really very sweet as compared to other cheesecakes. The texture of it is kind of light and creamy - not too dense. Definitely enjoyable.

Although the cafe is a little pricey then those normal cafe i been to. But I would definitely make a trip back again to Wildseed Cafe, & this time to have a go at their high tea menu. Sometimes, all we just need is to get out of the city and have some quiet time.
