Food Review: 49 Seats @ CentrePoint

Welcome to 49 Seats @ CentrePoint.

When i first enter, it gave me a very metallic monochromic feel cause everything is mostly in black white or silver. I think the design of the wall was pretty unique with the shapes of all the cutlery, plates, bowls, etc...

There's a wide selection of dishes to choose from, which includes fish, chicken or beef for the main course, pasta (10.90 – $25.90), light bites ($4.90 – $9.90), sandwiches ($9.90 – $10.90) and sides ($5.90 – $13.90).

We ordered quite a number of sides like escargot, fish bites, onion ring, chicken wing. It comes in a portion of either 8-10, so you can share among your friends. The onion ring was kind of quite dry but i think if you decided to order sides to share maybe chicken wings or fish bites will be good.

While waiting for our food to arrive...

Super recommended. The fusion of the pasta with the thai tom yam is legit. I wouldn't say less cause everytime i visit 49 seat i would order this! Is just so good! If only delivery service collaborate with them, i think i will just keep ordering the tom yam pasta! They added chilli padi to give it a more spicy taste to it, which surprisingly although i felt it is legit spicy, but i keep telling my friends that is just so "f-ing" good.

Beef Steak with Alscampi Sauce. It has a light and not really to the kind of creamy thick texture with an assortment of prawns, mussels and clams. I would say it is a little in between mayo and tartar sauce. I couldn't decide which fit it better. But it still taste good with a little white wine in it. The beef was kind of normal but the sauce is the one that makes it special i would say.

They have the kind of carbonara that i like. I hate creamy thick stuff & i never like carbonara cause the texture of it is suppose to be like that. I tried at different places their carbonara but none beat this! I like how everything is not too thick, not too creamy nor too dry. But for those who prefer creamy carbonara, this might not be a dish for you.

Pan Fried Fish with Alscampi Sauce. The dory fish was well marinated and it taste good just on it's own. However, i still prefer the Alscampi Sauce with the beef then with the fish.

Overall, i would rate it a 4.5/5! 0.5 cause i think the place is in the new wing of the mall and it's not really easy to find. Had to ask around. It's not my first visit to 49 Seats definitely & i would say the quality of the food didn't drop from the previous time i went to the first outlet at Kreta Ayer Road nor the bugis outlet. Don't worry this outlet is kind of bigger than the other outlets i been to, definitely can cater to big groups. What's more, there is no service charge therefore, I think 49 seats is a pretty decent place to dine in with your friends and not burnt a hole in your pocket especially when you are in town. Everything is just so overprice. Tudus, Signing off.
